Our Story
It's been said that "necessity is the mother of invention". Well, we'll admit that no one really "needs" a margarita but it sure is nice to have one.We love to travel and we love to drink margaritas. Heck, we even met at a tequila bar – the world famous Tommy's Mexican Restaurant in San Francisco.In our travels, we discovered that finding fresh limes can be a challenge. During one trip, the only citrus fruits available were tiny kumquats. They made yummy margaritas, but squeezing 100 of them by hand was quite a chore. Even on trips where we were able to find limes, they were often crazy expensive or not very juicy.Thinking there had to be a better way, we set out on a mission to create a convenient and delicious powdered margarita mix. Thus, Margarita Uno® was born. After spending a couple years looking for quality ingredients, perfecting our recipe, and testing it out on friends and family, we felt we had something great to offer.Margarita Uno is perfect for travel, camping, picnics, and parties, or whenever you want an easy to make, easy to drink margarita. Recipes for Margarita Uno®
Original Margarita Uno
For 4 cocktails:
- Start with 8 oz (1 cup or ~250 ml) water
- Stir in 1 packet Margarita Uno until dissolved
- Add 8 oz good quality tequila
- Shake or stir well with ice
- Serve and enjoy!
Frozen (Blender) Margarita Uno
For 4 cocktails:
- Put 8 oz (1 cup or 250 ml) good quality tequila in a blender
- Slowly add 1 packet Margarita Uno and pulse until dissolved
- Add 4 cups (1 liter) ice cubes and blend well
- Serve and enjoy!
Sparkling Margarita Uno
For 4 cocktails:
- Start with 8 oz (1 cup or ~250 ml) good quality tequila
- Stir in 1 packet Margarita Uno until dissolved
- Shake or stir well with ice
- Gently stir in 8 oz cold sparkling water or club soda
- Serve and enjoy!
Smoky (Mezcal) Margarita Uno
For 4 cocktails:
- Start with 8 oz (1 cup or ~250 ml) water
- Stir in 1 packet Margarita Uno until dissolved
- Add 8 oz good quality mezcal
- Shake or stir well with ice
- Serve and enjoy!
Spicy (Jalapeño) Margarita Uno
For 4 cocktails:
- Start with 8 oz (1 cup or ~250 ml) water
- Stir in 1 packet Margarita Uno until dissolved
- Add 8 oz good quality tequila
- Add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) freeze-dried jalapeño peppers — adjust for your desired level of spiciness
- Shake or stir well with ice
- Serve and enjoy!
Party Size Margarita Uno
For 12 cocktails:
- Start with 24 oz (3 cups or ~750 ml) water
- Stir in 3 packets Margarita Uno until dissolved
- Add a 750ml bottle good quality tequila
- Shake or stir well with ice
- Serve and enjoy!
Single Serving Margarita Uno
For the correct proportions and to avoid clumping, it's important to prepare all 4 servings of the mix at once.Once prepared, you can make individual cocktails.If covered and refrigerated, the liquid mix will stay fresh for 3 days.To prepare 4 servings liquid mix:
- Start with 8 oz (1 cup or ~250 ml) water
- Stir in one packet Margarita Uno until dissolved
- Cover and refrigerate unused portionFor 1 cocktail:
- Take 2 oz (¼ cup or ~60 ml) prepared liquid mix
- Add 2 oz good quality tequila
- Shake or stir well with ice
- Serve and enjoy!
Non Alcoholic Margarita Uno
(Sparkling Lime Cooler)
For 4 mocktails:
- Start with 8 oz (1 cup or ~250 ml) water
- Stir in 1 packet Margarita Uno until dissolved
- Shake or stir well with ice
- Gently stir in 8 oz cold sparkling water or club soda (or more, to taste)
- Serve and enjoy!
Non Alcoholic Margarita Uno
(Single Serving)
